Capacity building
Our programs, in your community
The DEER Program builds dementia-related programs, trainings, and resources that help people live well, thoroughly tests and improves them, and then teaches other organizations to launch their own offerings. You bring the community. We bring the materials, the training, and the support to foster success.
Six programs, ready for your organization to adopt.
Why we share
A good program should not stay in one place
The DEER Program is a hotbed of innovation. We are constantly building and finding forward-thinking programs and resources that help people living with dementia and their care partners live well. We have never believed those programs should be ours alone. They belong to everyone!
So whenever we develop something new, we make it available as widely as we can through capacity-building trainings. Your organization already knows your community far better than we ever could. Our job is to offer you something that works, teach your team to lead it, and stand beside you while you do, celebrating your success along the way.

- Help filling the room Strategies and resources for recruiting participants and, where a program needs them, volunteers.
- Guidance in finding the funding Assistance locating grant funding that can support the program in your community.
- Live training for your team A series of live sessions, led by our team, covering every aspect of running the program.
- Technical assistance that continues We’re here for support for as long as you are running the program.
How it works
From first message to first session
- Tell us what you are thinking Send us the short form at the bottom of this page. Pick the program that interests you, or say you are not sure yet. That is a perfectly good answer.
- We talk it through A conversation about who you serve, what you already have, and what would actually work where you are. If none of our programs is the right fit, we will say so.
- Your team is trained A series of live sessions covering every part of the program, and the full set of materials handed over to you.
- You run it, and we stay with you Ongoing technical assistance for as long as the program is running, plus help recruiting participants and looking for funding to sustain it.
What about cost?
Programs are adopted for a one-time training fee, which covers the live training sessions and the materials your organization keeps. We will walk through the numbers with you before anything is committed, and we can help you look for grant funding to cover them.
We genuinely believe that it is only by working together as a network, and supporting each other in growing our collective impact, that we will be able to achieve the future we so desperately need.
