Monthly Community Group Meetings:
Third Wednesday of each month, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
United Way of Las Vegas, 5830 W. Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas NV, 89103
Community Group Goals
Goal 1: Promote brain health and dementia awareness among community members throughout Clark County
Goal 2: Support the continuing education of healthcare providers on the topics of brain health and dementia.
Current Activities:
Dementia Friendly Clark County is working towards furthering community awareness of dementia by training more Dementia Friends Champions to offer Dementia Friends Information Sessions throughout the community. We are actively identifying new locations to offer Dementia Friends Information Sessions and brainstorming ideas for how to incentivize community members to become Dementia Friends!
Dementia Friendly Clark County is also working towards developing educational materials for healthcare providers, such as a brief presentation that can be brought to primary care practices for a “lunch and learn.” To help equip healthcare providers with up-to-date information about available opportunities and resources throughout the community, we are also strengthening a resource list that can be shared with providers at such presentations.
