Makena (Kena) Lenz
Graduate Assistant
Kena is a master’s student in the School of Public Health. She holds two Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and International Affairs from the University of Nevada, Reno. During her undergraduate coursework, Kena became fascinated with how the actions of major corporations and government institutions affect well-being at the community level. Her life experience and educational background led her to take a special interest in harm reduction, brain health, and disability inclusion. Kena takes pride in reinforcing the DEER Program’s values in pursuit of cultivating empathy and understanding in our Nevada communities and beyond.
